Italian infantry

So its been a while since I posted here, but there has been things going on in the back ground. I have finished all my Italian infantry, for now at least.

The basic rifle platoon is formed of one Platoon commander, two full Infantry squads, a Medic and a Forward Observer.

Platoon Commander

Now, while I like the models, there are a couple of points of note. I wouldn't call them criticisms, as I don't think they are, just observations. Firstly, they are more green than grey green. Some models I see look blue more than anything but while looking at paint schemes and paints, I came across a paint set with Vallejo Model Color paints and Olive Grey as the European uniform colour. Using a paint conversion chart it lists Castellan Green as an alternative, which I had and this green is the result. Maybe not as green grey as it should be but I'm not going for historical accuracy here. The second point is that I tried to mix up the colours a bit by adding in some more grey or beige to various parts but it hasn't come.out as well.as I would have likes. There is some variations in colour but it's not as defined as I would have liked.

Forward Observer, Platoon Commander, Medic

I'm not sold on the medic, his abilities are not amazing but if I have some points going spare then I might invest in one. He isn't quite finished, as I need to add some medic markings but I have been struggling to identify how Italian medics were designated. I think it's just an armband but not sure.

The first Infantry squad is a ten man squad with LMG, I have just realised that I need an additional man to make the full 11 man squad, but that's ok, as I have one spare man that can slot in here but I will need another one for the second squad.

The second squad are a copy of the first, with LMG but also carrying grenades, the classic red Mod. 35 grenades. These can be used as standard infantry or with the tank hunters upgrade.

The red grenades are very striking against the greens and browns of the uniform.
