2026 aims and objectives

 So over on my main blog, (the 40k one) I write down my resolutions for the the year and I though that I should do something similar here. I thought I'd title it slightly differently though, as my aims and objectives for the year. 

So what are my aims and objectives for Bolt Action \ VBCW this year? Well there quite simple actually, as having just brought everything I want for my Italian army and I have no plans for further expansion, I'll be just concentrating on playing a few games. I would like to play every couple of months, maybe get half a dozen games a year played, which I think is reasonable. 

Having just mentioned buying everything I need for the Italians, one of the main focus for the year, is getting it all painted up. So far I have four tanks, (or two tanks and two tankettes), four weapons teams and half a dozen infantry to paint but there will be two artillery guns and about another half a dozen infantry to add to the list soon. Getting them all painted is high on the list of to do's. 

The last thing on my list is pick up the Italian army book from Warlord when it arrives. I'm pretty sure that it arriving this spring\summer, if the graphic remember is still correct. At that point I may well change my mind on not adding units to the army but we shall have to wait and see. 

So there it is, pretty quick and easy - play games, paint models, buy book - what could possibly go wrong!

A quick note on the VBCW side of the blog, this is still very much on my to do list, and I can buy all the vehicles I want from the same place I got my Italian vehicles, so that's good but for the moment, I have quite a bit of stuff to get through, both BA and 40k, so I will be holding off for a bit on getting the VBCW stuff.

This time we'll look at the German forces.  Firstly the rifle platoon; Platoon commander Medic - vet SS squad - 5 man, vet, 5x assault rifles  SS squad - 5 man, vet, 5x assault rifles  Heer Vet Grenadiers - 6 man, vet, 2x LMG Volksgrenadier - inexperienced, 5 man Sd.Kfz 251/1 Half-track 'Hanomag' - vet A lot of veteran bodies here. Early war british Force

So, quite a while ago I wrote about my VBCW list idea and this is the expanded list for Bolt Action. It is, as you would imagine an early war list and while the original VBCW list was written to Bolt Action V2, this list has been updated to V3, but the points are roughly similar. 2nd Lieutenant, 2x attendant - 50 medic, attendant - 31 Foo (artillery), 2x attendant (vet) - 118 Regular Infantry - 8 men, LMG - 195 Regular Infantry - 8 men, LMG - 95 Regular Infantry - 10 men, 2x LMG - 130 Regular Infantry - 10 men, 2x LMG - 130 Sniper - 67 Boys ATR - 25 Light Mortar - 30 Light Mortar - 30 15 CWT - 43 15 CWT - 43 Platoon commander - 30 Light Artillery (18/25pdr), shield, spotter - 65 Tow, 15cwt truck - 23 Light Artillery (18/25pdr), shield, spotter - 65 Tow, 15cwt truck - 23 Roll Royce Armoured Car - 70 Light Tank Mk VIC - 85 Total 1248 So it's still quite an infantry heavy list with some supporting artillery. Slow burn

 So I knew that this blog would be a slow burning blog but I didn't think it would be as slow as it is!  Having not posted for a whole year, I thought I should put something up here! While there has not been any posts up, there has been some movement on the modeling front.  My son has built all the models now, building a British and German late war force both to around 900 points. Unfortunately due to the weather and time, most remain unpainted, with only the vehicles and British infantry primed. We have however played a couple of small games, 500 points, where the British have been trounced every time. Party I think due to the small size of the games and the advantage the German assault rifles have given. With bigger games they may well struggle at bit more, especially early game when the rifles can put range them.  Additionally to the Germans and British, I have been organising and starting to get my Italians together.
