Heavy weapons
Alongside the new vehicles I have brought and made some heavy weapons teams. I say heavy weapons teams, but two of them are actually light mortars, so not very heavy at all!
These are Warlord games resin Italian Bersaglieri light mortar teams. I wanted just regular army teams, but there were none available when I brought these of eBay.
These models are pretty nice, not the best but still good. The sculpts are decent but the left arm comes separate on the mortar man and is a bit of a pain to put on, it just doesn't seem to sit nicely in any position.
As well as buying the mortar teams, I built two Anti-tank rifle teams from various bits, mainly warlord Italians and German veteran bits. The guns are actually German anti-tank rifles, which isn't quite right for the Italians but I don't really mind. I could have brought the proper ones, which were actually better rifles, but for game terms, it makes no difference, plus I've guys running around with Panzerfausts, so why not german AT rifles as well.
There are two teams, one on a single 50mm base, which needs finishing off, as the gun is currently floating in mid air. I will add a support of some sort, possibly a brick wall or maybe some rubble.
The second team is on separate bases and is in a moving pose rather than firing.
I really like the AT rifle in these models, with the stock folded it looks good.
So there you have the last of the support weapons ready. They still need to be primed and as soon as the weather gets to a point I can prime I will but it's currently about 5°C, wet and windy, so no joy on the priming front.
These models also mean that I can fill out a complete rifle platoon (apart from all the transport slots) which is not really useful but still a fun little fact.
