Extras

While there hasn't been much movement on the Bolt Action front, there has been some. I decided to build all the remaining bodies for the Italians. After building the engineers squad, there were 7 bodies left to build. These were split up in to three groups, to form an engineers command squad, a flame thrower team and two assistants for the FOO.

First up the Engineers command squad, formed of an officer and two assistants. The idea behind these is simple, options. The other engineers squad is 5 strong, and when combined with the flame thrower team below, can form a second five man squad. Alternatively they can just function as a command unit for a Engineers platoon, or even as an officer in any other platoon.

The two assistants can also be added to the 5 man Engineers squad with the flame throwers to form a large two flame thrower squad or can replace the flame thrower in the squad to enable the two flame throwers to be run as separate units. All in all there are lots of options.

Next up are the aforementioned flame thrower team. These are the same as the first flame thrower team that I showed off in a previous post, with the German flame thrower.

Again this was built to either act as an independent team or as part of a large squad.

Lastly, we have two attendants, mainly designed to go with the Forward Observer, to make a small unit that can actually do something after the FO has dropped his artillery barrage.

One of the guys has a panzerfaust but this is mostly just because it looks cool and plays no part in the game as the HQ units cannot take one.

These are the final infantry units for the Italian army. I say that before the army book is out, so that may well change. I am hopeful that I might get some sort of irregular forces, which would be cool. Also, with the release of the preview articles for the Italian army, I am looking at the possibility of dropping in some additional vehicles, maybe a Bren carrier or two or maybe a half track. Talking of the army book, I will have a look at the previewed rules at some point soon.
